Koirien hyvinvointi näyttelyissä - Well-being of dogs in shows

Koirien hyvinvointi ja terveys ovat aina etusijalla koiranäyttelyissä, ja näytteilleasettajan tulee huolehtia koiransa hyvinvoinnista ja hyvästä kohtelusta. 

Ilmoittaessaan koiransa näyttelyyn näytteilleasettaja sitoutuu noudattamaan näitä sääntöjä. Näytteilleasettaja voidaan poistaa näyttelystä, jos sääntöjä ei noudateta ja koiraa kohdellaan huonosti.

Näyttelypäivä sujuu parhaiten, kun olet totuttanut koirasi muihin koiriin ja ihmisjoukkoihin ja harjoitellut koirasi kanssa sitä, miten koira esiintyy näyttelyssä, ja miten tuomari tutkii koiran arvostelun aikana.

Ulkoiluta koiraasi riittävästi näyttelypäivän aikana ja kerää koirasi jätökset.

Kunnioita muiden tilaa, jotta kaikkien näyttelypäivä sujuu mutkattomasti.

Varaa koiralle riittävän tilava lepopaikka. Mikäli koiralla on häkki, varmista, että se on riittävän tilava. 

Huolehdi, että koirallasi on vettä saatavilla. 

Huolehdi, että koirallasi on riittävä suoja auringonpaisteelta tai vesisateelta. Koiraa ei saa jättää kuumalla tai kylmällä ilmalla autoon. 

Koiran omistajan on myös huolehdittava siitä, että koiran käyttäytyminen näyttelyssä ei ole vaaraksi muille koirille tai ihmisille.

Koiran suorituskykyyn näyttelyssä ei saa pyrkiä vaikuttamaan keinotekoisesti

Muistahan, että koiran suorituskykyyn ennen näyttelyä tai sen aikana ei saa pyrkiä vaikuttamaan minkään kemiallisen aineen, lääkkeen tai hoitotoimenpiteen avulla. Esimerkiksi koiran karvan, ihon ja kirsun värjääminen sekä karvanlaadun ja muodon muuttaminen kemiallisilla aineilla ennen näyttelyä tai sen aikana on kielletty. Jos ohjeita rikotaan, näytteilleasettaja suljetaan pois näyttelystä.

Health and well-being of dogs is always a priority at dog shows. The exhibitor is responsible for the well-being of his/her dog. 

By entering ones dog in the show, the exhibitor agrees to abide by these rules. The exhibitor may be excluded from the show if the rules are not respected and the dog is mistreated.

The day at the dog show runs smoothly when your dog is used to other dogs and crowds of people, and when you have trained with your dog on what is expected of him in the ring and how the judge will examine your dog during judging.

Walk your dog enough during the show day and collect the waste.

Respect the space of others so that everyone's show day goes smoothly.

Make sure your dog has enough room to rest. If your dog has a crate, make sure it is spacious enough.

Make sure your dog has access to water.

Make sure your dog has adequate protection from the sun or rain. Do not leave your dog in the car in hot or cold weather. 

The dog owner must also ensure that the dog's behaviour at the show does not endanger other dogs or people.

Attempting to influence a dog’s performance artificically at the show is forbidden

Attempting to influence a dog’s performance by using any chemical substances, drugs or treatments is forbidden. For instance, dyeing a dog’s fur, skin and nose as well as treating the fur with chemical substances that affect the quality of hair or the shape of the fur is prohibited. An exhibitor committing a violation of these rules will be excluded from the show.

Dogs with docked tails or cropped ears may not participate in dog shows in Finland.
